Paying lip service to integrity

As you know, the grand opening of the Olympic Games on Aug 8 truly mirrored the China of today. The world saw the material wealth of the country. But as critics, both within and without the country have pointed out, the opening also revealed the regime's spiritual shortcomings. People from all over the world was impressed by the four-hour-long grand spectacle, but its estimated to have cost US$100 million (S$140 million)!!!!Four times more fireworks were used that one night than in all 28 previous Games combined. Can you believe it? S$140,000,000 in one night.
aiyo.
but they go fake the image la.
they go replace a talented but not 'cute' child singer with a lip-synching 'cute' one.
you got see the opening?
i got.
got one small and cute girl singing la.
but she didnt sing.

The ruling Chinese Communist Party literally fooled more than four billion TV viewers worldwide, the largest viewership in Olympic history. This blatant disregard for ethics is indeed alarming. And the reason for doing so - for the sake of national interest - is equally disquieting. It means faking is permissible if it is done in the name of something holy. By doing so, China is breaking its own laws and violating the Olympic spirit.
its actually very ironic.
in china, if you lip-synch you will get a heavy penalty.
and the ruling party of China is breaking its own laws and violating the Olympic spirit.
If the CCP takes the lead in ignoring its own law, how can it expect the Chinese people to be law-abiding?
people will also start to ignore them.
the CPP wanted to be perfect so they resorted to 'false singing', which is explicitly banned under Chinese law.
but. nothing is perfect or noone is.
The backstage singer Yang Peiyi should have been allowed to openly share the credits with Lin Miaoke, the lip- syncher. And the organisers should have openly acknowledged Peiyi's singing but they didnt.
'Olympism seeks to create a way of life based on the joy found in effort, the educational value of a good example and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles'
The CCP did not show 'respect for fundamental ethical principles' when it decided to fake a 'perfect' image. The message it sent out was that whoever had a less 'cute' face would be denied a chance even though qualified, and whoever had a 'cuter' look had permission to lie. This was wrong and hurt both children seriously and needlessly.

they show no respect for the children.
even though they are kids, they shouldnt do they.
it'll hurt their pride.

Rome was not built in a day. Neither will national revival.
